How can you spot a good-quality pipe/waterpipe?

It's best to go with a piece that carries a lot of physical weight. The lighter the glass (relative to it's size), the weaker it is. The heftier the glass, the stronger it is. One easy phrase to remember is: You want the glass to clank – NOT tink! And specifically for waterpipes, beaker-based models are typically harder to knock over than a straight-tubed model!
